![]() The easy answer to this is Liberty State Park. Where to take elopement photos in Jersey City I took the couple there and their witnesses for photo ops too. Where we were waiting, there was a perfect place for window light portraits without a flash or high ISO.Maybe even a place where a scary movie could be filmed. The hallways interiors reminded me of an old dirty high school without any updates to their furnishings, walls and floors.(They live in Ukraine and could not be there) Even waived hello to the bride’s parents, patiently waiting to witness their daughter get married over Facetime. The judge we had was so pleasant and kind.The ceremony was about 5 minutes long, and other people (strangers waiting to elope too) waited in the pews and watched.I did ask, and the judge cheerfully approved my request, and it was a relief! I was able to photograph anywhere I wanted, even with flash. I was a little nervous for that reason before entering the room. The security at the front entrance had warned me. We did not know photographers had to ask the judge for permission to photograph in the courtroom.We were scheduled for their elopement ceremony with the judge at 8:30 am, but it took about a half hour until we were welcomed in. I went up the elevators and met the couple and their witnesses. ![]() As a standard, I had to walk through a security checkpoint.See the photos above to find the correct courthouse to elope in Jersey City.Although we didn’t make time to take photos there after the ceremony, it would be an ideal location to take photos!
